Dear Friends;

Since the beginning of the HIV and AIDS epidemic well over half a million people have died of AIDS in America alone. There are currently more than one million people living with HIV and AIDS in America, and every year approximately 56,000 Americans are infected with HIV. With the number of Americans living with HIV/AIDS, and the current infection rates, I am sure we all personally know someone who is directly or indirectly impacted by this disease.

This is LSR’s 10th Anniversary for raising donations for three DFW area beneficiary organizations: AIDS Outreach Center in Fort Worth, Resource Center of Dallas, and AIDS Services of Dallas. These organizations offer services such as food pantries, counseling, housing assistance, education, and advocacy for persons with HIV/AIDS in North Texas. Without these services so many people would do without basic necessities, such as food and life saving medications. This simply cannot happen. People’s life depend on the services these organization provide.

On September 25th and 26th, I plan to once again saddle up for a 180 mile, two day bike ride to benefit the AIDS service providers in North Texas. Just like last year, this will be a 2-day journey for me. Last year I stated that I could only imagine how much this event would change my life, and believe me when I tell you I am a changed man. The kindness and compassion of all the wonderful people who contributed to this cause, then there are those that volunteered their time and supported the riders.

From the time the closing ceremonies began to the time the ceremony had ended, there was not a dry eye in the house. These people are now family, friends, and comrades! I look forward to once again saddling up with my partners, and through tears of pain and tears of joy, we will once again complete this ride with our head held high. So I ask you, please help me meet my goal of raising of $2,000.00 by making a donation.
